Hair Loss Treatment for Men & Women 2010
Most people think that losing hair is just a common occurrence when a man (or even some women) grows old. The elderly don’t get ridiculed for being bald but for younger men, this can be a devastating condition.
HAIR LOSS BEFORE BEING 21
Hair loss generally does not occur before the age of 21. Young men who would experience
hair loss at age 15-
Other signs include excessive c when the young man brushes, combs, showers, or even shampoos. The most probable patients are those who inherited the condition from their parents. A young man who becomes bald even before being a complete adult would often experience total devastation over his condition. To treat them, the physician should not only deal with the physical aspect of the illness but also the psychological effects of the young patient’s condition.
HAIR LOSS SPECIALIST (A MEMBER OF ISHRS)
A young, balding man who wants to do something about his condition has to go first to physician (preferably one that has knowledge on hair restoration and treatments). There are hair restoration specialists who would be able to target the problem given all the symptoms that they see. Just make sure that this specialist is a member of the ISHRS or the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. It is important to deal with ISHRS members only as they are the experts that were trained to deal with the distressful conditions of a young patient.
The treatment for young patients comes with a legal guardian or parental consent.
A hair restoration specialist would not be able to operate on someone who’s younger
than 21 if the guardian would aid him on the decision-
WHY NOT HAIR TRANSPLANTATION?
Hair transplantation has been recognized by the medical world as well as the public to be one of the most successful methods of restoring hair. Also, the public generally accepts back an individual who was previously bald and who has a full head of hair once more. Unfortunately, patients who are under the age of 21 should not consider this option in hair restoration because of the following factors:
1. The hair loss pattern and progression is yet to be established at this stage.
2. It will be extremely difficult for a physician to design an operation that would suit throughout the patient’s entire life.
3. Hair transplantation needs series of operations to make hair look normal so this could be highly stressful for younger patients.
4. There is a higher probability that surgical corrections would have to be made in the future because of the early performance of surgery.
Being young and bald does not mean being hopeless. All that a young patient has to do is to wait for the proper time and he would also be able to decide whether or not he would undergo transplantation. In the meantime, he can wait by using other remedies and hair loss treatments.
