Hair Loss Treatment for Men & Women 2010
Hair loss can be a very troubling condition. When you lose your hair, you might suffer
from a wide variety of problems -

When somebody is diagnosed with alopecia, the dermatologist will usually recommend the use of some medications. The most common forms of hair loss medications used these days are Minoxidil and Finasteride. Minoxidil is a prescription drug that usually comes in the form of a cream or foam. It should be applied to the balding region of the scalp no less than twice everyday. When applied on a regular basis, this hair loss medication usually produces some visible results just after two months of continuous use.
As for the Finasteride, it is usually provided in the form of a pill. Like Minoxidil, Finasteride medications are prescription drugs. This medication works by blocking off the effects of androgens in the body. When taken daily, the drug can slow down the hair loss process and promote hair growth. If used continuously, this medication can produce visible results in just three months.
THE NEW TREATMENT
Many people are quite skeptical about the effectiveness of Minoxidil and Finasteride for hair loss treatment. This is because their results vary depending on the level, nature, and causes of the hair loss condition. Some people are not receptive to such medications. Fortunately, a new hair restoration technology has been introduced. Researchers now introduce the use of "cold" laser hair therapy (LHT). Based on clinical trials, this new treatment is perfect for people who are still not in the advanced stages of hair loss. Researchers point out that LHT alone can efficiently promote hair growth. What’s more is that LHT is applicable for both men and women. In most cases, this process can also be used with Minoxidil and Finasteride.

When a person undergoes a cold laser hair therapy, the dermatologist will use multiple laser devices that are attached to a rotating head. This rotating head is attached to a hood that is positioned just above the patient’s balding section. During the process, the hood is lowered so the laser light can be directed to the balding portion of the patient’s head. Usually, the hood is placed just 2cm away from the scalp.
Experts note that LHT is quite effective in treating people who have hair loss conditions, specifically androgenetic alopecia and telogen effluvium. Based on recent statistics, eighty percent of androgenetic alopecia patients that are treated with LHT experienced “increased hair density” just after the few months of the treatment. As for those who had telogen effluvium, complete cessation of shedding can be observed.
