Revivogen®, distributed by Advanced Skin & Hair Inc., was formulated by Dr. Alex Khadavi that represents a niche in the hair treatment market that specifically targets DHT - the byproduct of hormone spikes. Revivogen® is being marketed as an anti hair-thinning formulation. According to the company website, Revivogen® is fit for both men and women. Unlike other products that target specifically men or women, Revivogen® purports to be effective for both sexes.

 

 

WHERE TO BUY REVIVOGEN®?

 

The all-natural line of products for hair care is available in the easy to navigate website. The Revivogen® Scalp Therapy package is being sold for $89. This package contains natural DHT inhibitors and other DHT blockers.

 

The Revivogen® Bio Cleansing Shampoo is also available, and is being retailed for just $20 per bottle. For the folks who just love conditioning their hair, it’s a good thing that Revivogen® also sells a Hair Thickening Conditioner, which was designed to reactivate and revive ailing hair. The conditioner is being sold for $22.

 

As for its company’s good business practice, any buyer can return any purchased product within a period of 90 days.

 

 

DOES REVIVIGEN® REALLY WORK?

 

1) Revivogen® has one unique claim (that has yet to be bolstered by studies or consumer reports): that it has no side effects. This may be due to the fact that Revivogen® has been produced with mostly plant-based ingredients. But we shall return to this point later on in this discussion.

 

2) According to the FAQ written by Khadavi himself, the natural components present in Revivogen® directly combat the presence of alpha reductase. Alpha reductase has been identified in the eighties as one of the more suspicious causes of balding in both men and women.

 

3) The main components of Revivogen® include B-vitamins, azaleic acid, saw palmetto and procyanidin oligomers. Revivogen® is a topical preparation - which means it has to be applied daily for  a period of months to maximize any results.

 

 

THE DISADVANTAGES OF REVIVOGEN®

 

1) The main disadvantages of Revivogen® is tied to the very nature of the formulation - again it’s an herbal/organic preparation that aims to contradict something within the human scalp. According to skeptical reports, there is no evidence that vitamins can be absorbed in significant levels through the scalp or the skin.

 

2) This brings into question whether the formulation would be useful at all. A good example would be vitamin E - the most popular “skin” vitamin around. According to examinations done in Boston University, there is no proof that tocopherol can be absorbed by the skin at all.

 

3) The medical studies presented in the commercial website were not very clear how the various organic acids were used to block the androgens responsible for balding. There might be a chance that such organic acids can indeed antagonize the androgens on a petri dish or any other controlled condition, but not on the level of the human scalp.

 

As a cautionary note, products like Revivogen® should only be used if your general practitioner has given the go signal for such “scalp supplements”. Remember, Revivogen® is not an antibiotic nor is it any other kind of tried and tested skin formulation.
