Hair Loss Treatment for Men & Women 2010
It’s common for men and women of advancing age to experience hair loss. The process of hair loss is often gradual and not completely noticeable, until the strands fall in clumps and large areas begin to go bald.
Often, the onset of hair loss goes unnoticed because it is often difficult to discern
between accelerated hair loss and the normal shedding of the human hair. Floating
hairs on the bathroom floor are a common sight-
GENERAL CAUSES
Causes for accelerated hair loss can often be attributed to the usual factors, such as heredity, changes in hormonal levels and of course, the condition of alopecia. Let’s discuss these three, so you can determine for yourself what’s causing those tresses to fall.
1. Heredity-
2. Hormonal levels-
3. Alopecia-
BRAIDING, WOMEN & TRACTION ALOPECIA
According to Dr. R. Martin Earles, a practicing dermatologist in Chicago, states that even women are suffering from hair loss, just like most men:
"It just has become rampant. I see as many as three to five women patients a day
suffering from permanent hair loss. One of the culprits is very tight braids-
Dr. Randy Smith, a specialist of hair loss specialist in Illinois explains the condition:
“Traction alopecia affects thousands of women each year. Continuous pulling of the hair that occurs from tight cornrows, braids, weaves, ponytails and curlers is often the culprit. If you have difficulty moving your forehead or experience headaches and scalp soreness, these may be signs that your hair is styled too tightly.”
“Over time, bald spots may develop along the hairline and above the ears. The hairline gradually recedes significantly. If the problem is not treated, a permanent condition called scarring alopecia may result.”
RECOMMENDATIONS
Poor diagnosis is bad for your scalp-
If you still want to style your hair in a similar manner, stick to loose styles that do not stress the hair and scalp. Never sacrifice your scalp; because in the end, it just might succumb to lasting damage.
